Speakers

Jamie Pang

Jamie Pang, JD, Environmental Health Program Director, Oregon Environmental Council (She/Her)

Jamie has a JD from Lewis & Clark Northwestern School of Law, and brings a decade of experience in the public interest, environmental, non-profit sector, including campaign and policy development. Prior to joining OEC, Jamie served as the staff counsel for the Protect Our Communities Foundation where she challenge consumer rate spikes and dirty fossil fuel development in Southern California, and advocated against the operation of fossil fuel power plants near disadvantaged communities.


She also worked for the Center for Biological Diversity, in Washington D.C whereby she defended imperiled wildlife and other federal environmental laws from legislative attacks and fought against regulatory overhauls, attacks on civil justice, and scientific integrity. She currently sits on the Board of Directors for 350PDX, aiding them in their advocacy work for climate justice. Jamie joined OEC in 2019, and currently works on toxic chemicals in products, climate and health worker protections, air quality, green chemistry, plastics and microplastics issues, and emerging chemicals.

Kat Gentry, Head of Stile Education USA (She/Her)

Kat Gentry is a massive science nerd who just wants to watch the world learn. She received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne, specializing in Zoology and Biochemistry in 2012. Kat went on to work with Teach for Australia, where she taught science in a remote Australian town in the middle of the desert. Her passion for science led her to research salmon aquaculture, working with labs in Norway, Australia, and New Zealand to answer questions around sustainability and pest management in these systems. Currently, she leads the US branch of Stile Education, where she tackles the challenge of providing a world-class science education to every student.

Amanda Ingmire, Senior Policy Analyst at the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (She/Her)

Amanda Ingmire is a connector, convener, and collaborative strategist. She is a Licensed Architect and Senior Policy Analyst at the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) with 15 years of experience working in the built environment. Amanda’s work at DEQ is focused on addressing the full life cycle impacts of the built environment while centering equity, racial justice, and wellbeing. She conducts research, develops projects and programs, consults on state building projects, serves as an advisor and provides expert testimony to numerous boards, commissions, businesses, and government entities, and collaborates with many partners to advance a holistic, systems approach to addressing some of our biggest challenges.
